Born and raised in the Arctic, Robert was struck by how little most Canadians actually know about this amazing region of their own country. His first novel, Napachee, was inspired by the desire to teach young people more about the Arctic in an entertaining but realistic fashion. Calgary-based Shenaaz Nanji likes to think of herself as a squid who lives under the sea but surfaces occasionally to read and write.
