In my drawing session, I will teach students about using basic shapes, that they all can draw, as the foundation for all drawings. We will identify and use basic shapes to draw objects, people, animals, landscapes, and to discover how to communicate emotions through facial expressions.
Session for Grades 1-2: Making Faces and Having Fun! This session will show children how to create basic cartoon faces that show our emotions. Students will have fun learning how to use the different facial features to create sad, happy, anxious, bored and scared characters. The session will end with students creating a poster of other emotions that they invent after they have learned about the key emotions. Time: 1-1/2 hours Non-Taleblazers Cost: 150.00
Session for Grades 3-4: Creating Career Characters This session will involve children in using basic shapes to create everyday objects and characters. When we put these objects and characters together, students will explore how to show different possible career roles such as: doctor, teacher, lawyer, truck driver, etc. They will culminate their learning by creating their own character. Time: 1-1/2 hours Non-Taleblazers Cost: 150.00
Session for Grades 5-9: Creating Comic Strips This session will show students how to use basic shapes, line of action and principles of composition to story board a comic strip idea. We will create 8-10 panel strips and begin with very simple story lines and characters which can be embellished by having students use their imaginations. Time: 1-1/2 hours Non-Taleblazers Cost: 150.00
Session for Grade 9: Editorial Cartoons and Caricature This session will explore how to draw caricatures of famous politicians and pop figures.
